When it comes to travel, there is no right and wrong, good and bad, or this way and that way. Travel has to do with places, experiences, visions, adventures and feelings that spark something within you. That’s right, you. The entire point of where you are going is because there is something there that draws an inner interest. It does not matter if your other half, friends or your family have a similar interest or not. There are going to be things that you want to do that others have no interest in, and that’s 100% completely ok.
Of course if you are in a relationship, it’s nice if they share a similar interest, or at least want to give it a try, but at the same time, that shouldn’t matter either. If it’s somewhere that you want to experience, or something you want to try, then your other half should want you to do that for your own fulfillment regardless.
This mindset has to do with everything from flights, excursions, cruises, seats, tickets, travel gear, rewards points, and on and on. The travel rewards program on your credit card might work better for you, while a completely different card and program might work better for someone else. It just depends on how you do your spending and the ultimate goal you are after, whether it is flights, hotels, etc.
Think about this the next time you asking a tour guide which is the “better route” or “better tour”. For example, many times tour companies will offer a daytime experience and an evening experience, but you can probably imagine the countless visitors that ask which one is better. This is just personal preference and the experience that you want to have. That’s all. So while you may want to see the city light up at night, others may want to see the botanical gardens under the sun & blue skies.
Regardless of what you choose, you’re going to enjoy it because it’s what you wanted to see and experience. Get an idea together of the things that you might like to do, find out if there are different options, and then select the one that first draws your attention. Just keep in mind that there isn’t going to be a perfect answer or a right answer when it comes to travel.
Because travel brings out the individuality in everyone, there will never be a blanket best answer, selection or choice. Just as two people will never see the same waterfall or forest, the same goes for travel. Your favorite might not be someone else’s and vice versa. It’s great to do research on destinations, activities, and products, but in the end the ultimate best choice is going to be what is best for you and what you want to get out of it.
Always enjoy your journey for you, do what you want to do, go where you want to go, experience what you want to and you’ll be amazed at the overall experience you will have.
